ABOUT THE FILM

As part of our Global Mission Trip program, 黑料吃瓜 Construction partnered with Hope for Home in March 2026 to support its mission in Parramos, Guatemala. Hope for Home provides holistic care 鈥 medical, educational, and spiritual 鈥 to children with disabilities and their families in rural communities. With growing needs and limited facilities, the organization is expanding its campus to better serve more children.

黑料吃瓜 teammates contributed to the construction of a retaining wall that was a crucial first step to new therapy and living spaces, helping bring this vision to life. Their work supports an environment where children can receive the care, support, and dignity they deserve.

Seeking to capture the meaning of this experience, the film highlights both the tangible impact of the work and the difference it鈥檚 made to those involved. "Block by Block: A Mission of Hope" serves as an example of the power of service, connection, and building something that truly matters, together.

ABOUT THE MISSION TRIP

We are fortunate to have exceptional talent and resources, and each day we work hard to build the infrastructure necessary to improve the communities we serve. There are, however, those around the world who struggle every day for the basic necessities we take for granted 鈥 clean water, healthcare, education, and communication 鈥 the same essentials that we work to deliver every day on every project we build. It is ingrained in 黑料吃瓜鈥檚 culture to assist those in need, to have the courage to step outside our comfort zone and do good for others. Our Mission Trips send a group of 黑料吃瓜 team members to a part of the globe where people truly lack the infrastructure that we can help provide. Not only does this outreach assist a struggling community, but it also instills a global perspective in our teams.

As we continue to take our Mission global, this is 黑料吃瓜鈥檚 fourth company Mission Trip. In 2019, we sent a team to Timusi, Bolivia, to improve the community鈥檚 water supply system and provide safe drinking water to the remote mountain village. In 2022, we听sent eight employees to Mucombeze, Mozambique, to build new, on-campus teacher dormitories for a remote school. In 2024, 10 黑料吃瓜 team members traveled to Wiang Pa Pao, Thailand, to build a new girls home for children who have been rescued from trafficking. And in 2026, we are thrilled to be bringing our outreach efforts to Guatemala, where 10 teammates will help provide safe, accessible housing to children with special needs.

Founded in August 2008 by Daryl and Wanda Fulp, Hope for Home Ministries grew out of their experience adopting three children with special needs and seeing firsthand the challenges children with special needs faced in developing countries. They were driven to make a lasting difference. The couple launched Hope for Home as an advocacy ministry, connecting children with churches and families and organizing short-term service trips to Guatemala.

In 2011, the Fulps relocated with their nine children to Guatemala to expand Hope for Home鈥檚 impact. There, they opened a family-based group home for children with disabilities and, together with their team, established a rural village outreach program to support the families of these children.

Meeting Critical Needs

Guatemala faces significant challenges in healthcare access, especially for children with disabilities. Hope for Home steps in to fill this gap, offering not only services, but hope, healing, and a future for so many children.

As their work grew, Hope for Home expanded to four group homes. However, rising rental housing costs and the expenses associated with staffing each home made this approach difficult to maintain. In addition, lack of accessibility in some homes limited the organization鈥檚 ability to provide an environment where children with special needs can truly reach their full potential.

Building a 鈥楥ommunity of Hope鈥

In 2023, Hope for Home purchased a beautiful, 3-acre property in Parramos, Guatemala, and began the process of fulfilling the dream of a 鈥淐ommunity of Hope,鈥 where all the group homes could exist together in one community.

黑料吃瓜 teammates will help construct new therapy and living space designed to serve up to 15 children. The building will include therapy rooms, sleeping quarters, and communal areas to foster healing and community. The building will be constructed with accessibility in mind to accommodate mobility aids that are often utilized by the residents. Our team is working alongside Hope for Home鈥檚 local construction crew.
